The role you’ll contribute:
Under the general direction of the Director of Quality Services, coordinates the implementation of systems to support medical, nursing and ancillary service staff to meet quality initiative and metric goals. The Quality Liaison will collaborate with the Clinical Data Analysts to concurrently and retrospectively utilize data into the designated computer application system and within the designated timeframe. The Quality Liaison will assist in benchmarking and reporting performance in patient outcomes, evidence based practice compliance and cost effective healthcare in designated areas. Additionally, the employee will meet the requirements of all applicable Federal, State and local regulatory/accrediting agencies, including Joint Commission, CMS, and AHCA.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
Utilizes computer programs to effectively collect, analyze, present, and communicate data to the various staff of the hospitals.
Performs accurate concurrent and retrospective review, as needed to support performance improvement activities in conjunction with the goals and strategic plan of the hospital.
Utilizes systematic data collection, aggregation, analysis and reporting techniques to achieve concurrent compliance review of identified quality/patient safety metrics. Facilitates timely intervention to avoid cases of non-compliance with measures/standards.
Routinely performs tracers and observations of clinical practices to assess compliance with established standards and develops methodology to effectively report the findings to the key stakeholders to achieve and maintain the designated compliance/regulatory standard.
Assists the Department Director and collaborates with the Department Data Analysts to compile reports for key committees of the hospital.
Prepares case review summaries of identified opportunities for improvement related to quality metrics and quality initiatives for presentation to the Triage/Utilization Committee as well as to appropriate nursing stakeholder groups.
Collaborates with the Infection Control Practitioner for surveillance activities and serves as back up, when necessary.
Serves as a subject matter expert (SME) to the staff members of the hospitals and acts as a liaison between the various departments, improvement teams and staff members of the hospitals to achieve positive quality outcomes.
Prepares and presents information effectively to internal and external customers of the Clinical Resources Department as needed to support the quality goals of the organization.
Prepares and provides education regarding quality initiatives and/or performance standards to members of the medical and hospital staff as assigned and ongoing, as indicated by measured outcomes/compliance to metrics.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Three (3) – five (5) years Clinical Experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and/or Registered Nurse (RN)
Computer literate – database management; ability to use Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Adaptability to learning new data reporting applications (e.g. Power Insight).
Ability to learn and demonstrate proficiency in core measure data abstraction and to perform concurrent data abstraction duties as assigned.
Proficient in development of education programs on relevant quality topics and conducting presentations to professional audiences.
Proficient in data analysis and identification of trends; proficient in aggregating data to effectively display data in a manner to facilitate understanding of key issues.
Participation in at least 1 Performance Improvement Team
